HORIZ App Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the HORIZ iOS app (the "App") and its backend service api.tryhoriz.com handle your personal information. The App is operated by the developer listed on its App Store page. Contact: [email protected].

This website's web product has its own Privacy Policy; the two do not replace each other.

• Account: email, password (stored only as a hash), and an optional display name and bio. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we also keep the account identifier and email that platform provides (Apple may give a relay address); for Apple sign-in we also keep a revocation token so we can revoke access with Apple when you delete your account.
• Content you create: the text and category of the signals you jot down, AI inference results, assets you track, stories you follow, the sources you subscribe to and what you have read or saved, your conversations with your AI twin and the memories it keeps, your onboarding answers, and the profile photo and banner you upload.
• Device and usage: a push token (only if you allow notifications), notification preferences, interface language, reading history and usage counts (for the in-app stats page), and sign-in sessions (token and expiry, up to 30 days; no IP addresses are recorded).

We do not collect location, contacts or advertising identifiers. The App contains no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. This version does not record audio and has no paid features, so we collect no payment information.

• To provide the App's features: AI inference and categorization, price tracking, stories, your AI twin, and push notifications.
• To keep accounts secure and fix problems.
• To generate content in the language you choose.

We do not use your personal information for advertising, we do not track you across apps, and we do not sell your data.

Inferences, categorization, expansion trees, themes and your AI twin rely on the third-party services below. Nothing is sent until you agree to "Third-party AI processing" in the App, and you can withdraw at any time under Me > Third-party AI processing; after that no new content is sent.

• DeepSeek receives the text and category of your signals, summaries of a few recent signals, your conversations with your twin and its memories, your onboarding answers, the assets you track with related summaries, and your language, to generate inferences, categories, summaries and twin replies.
• OpenRouter receives signal text and turns it into embeddings used to find your related past notes.
• Exa receives your signal text as a search query to find related web sources.
• Polymarket receives keywords extracted from a signal to find related prediction markets.

None of these requests include your email, name or account ID. These providers process data under their own privacy policies, and their servers may be located outside your country or region.

To build the stories every user can read, we combine the AI summaries, tags and tickers of signals (never the original text, never your identity) with other news. Your original text and identity never appear in a story, but while there are few users a story may draw mainly on the summaries of a small number of users.

• Cloudflare: network delivery and protection (requests pass through its network) and R2 object storage (your uploaded profile photo and banner, plus cached images from your sources).
• Expo and the Apple Push Notification service: delivering push notifications (the push token and the notification text, which may include the first few dozen characters of a signal summary). Expo also distributes App updates.
• Apple / Google: verifying your identity when you sign in with them.
• Source data provider: receives only the handles you subscribe to, to fetch their public posts.
• Market data providers: receive only tickers, never your personal information.
• Servers: our backend and database run on Contabo servers in Germany.

We keep the data above for as long as your account exists. The database is backed up daily and backups are kept for 7 days.

You can delete your account in the App at any time (Me > Edit profile > Delete account). Deletion immediately removes your account and its associated data, including the profile photo and banner you uploaded; AI memories and search indexes related to you are cleared within 24 hours, and backups roll over within 7 days. For Apple sign-in accounts we also revoke access with Apple.

• Change your name, bio, profile photo and banner under Edit profile.
• Withdraw your consent to third-party AI processing.
• Turn notifications off by category under Push notifications.
• Delete your account.

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

When this policy changes we update the effective date on this page; for significant changes we will also let you know in the App.
